An Apple a Day Linky Party: Classroom Decor

Have y'all met the adorable Leigh from The Applicious Teacher?  If not, allow me to formally introduce you.
 The Applicious Teacher
She is presh...super sweet and helpful, has fabulous ideas (I am totally digging her space unit and can't wait to use it next Spring!), and she has an adorable blog.  She's hosting a super fun linky party all summer long with a different focus each week.  This week's focus is classroom decor and has really forced me to get busy nailing down my decor so I could share it...lol!  Here's where you can link up your own ideas and check out everyone else's:

So, this year I'm all about Chevron and Owls.  I am simply in love with both, so I couldn't pick one or the other...it had to be both!  I'll be back in a few weeks to show you actual pics of my classroom with everything in place.  But for now, this little sneak peek will have to suffice.
I started with some adorable fabric from Hobby Lobby.  I got the owl fabric that's pictured, but I got the grey chevron stripes and I got some more fabric in the pinkish color with white polka dots.  My valances will be owls, and then I'll make a pennant banner out of the two complimentary fabrics.  *so excited!*
Then, I've been working feverishly on a mega classroom decor bundle filled with chevron and owl awesomeness.  Here's a peak at some of it:
I'm super stoked about my Owl Binder to encourage "Organized Weekly Learning".  Here's a peak at some of the pages it includes:

It also includes editable versions of many of these pages so you can add your own text! :)  I think it'll be perfect for my firsties but not too juvenile for older kids either.
Next up, my word wall.  I've created two different word wall packets to go with my Owl Word Wall Headers.  I have Dolch's 200 words plus the 95 Dolch nouns.  Plus, I have the first 300 Fry words.  I've included this cute pennant border that you can clip onto twine!

The unit includes lots of other goodies as well...like Day and Month signs, subject signs (similar to these), time signs to fill in your subject times, 108 Classroom Supply Labels, Cubby Labels, Student Name Tags, and more:

Up next, chevron alphabet posters featuring clipart by the adorable and oober-talented Ashley Hughes:

Finally, you can't have a cute classroom if the kids aren't kept under control...am I right?  So I've included rule posters (plus some editable ones so you can type your own rules).  Plus an Owl-Standing Behavior Clip Chart System which includes the clip chart, monthly and weekly behavior log, awards and certificates, a parent explanation, and more!:

And, ALL of the above (plus a few other goodies) can be purchased for $20 as a bundle in my TPT shop.  Just click the owl-dorable owl from Clipart Corner here:

And the great news is that as I create new owl goodies (like calendar cards...coming up next), you'll get to download them for free in the updated file.  :)  Sound like a plan, Stan?

Now hurry over and check out the linky party.  Inspire everyone with your classroom decor! :)

  2. Such great ideas! I love owls and chevrons too. At the end of this past year, I took EVERYTHING down in my room to force myself to redecorate in the fall. You've given me some great ideas!

  3. Super cute! I have similar colors, but used polka dots and stripes this year. I have always had frogs, but have been thinking about switching to owls. They are really growing on me! I look forward to seeing the pictures.

  5. so cute! how do you print the pages to look so good? Do you print at home (and if so what kind of printer?) or do you have them printed at staples? They look so professional!
