How do you reply to comments on your blog? HELP!!

I can't figure out how to reply to comments.  I have googled this and can't seem to make sense of the information presented. Can someone enighten me?  :)

I wanted to answer Caroline's comment/question about how most of her kids know all of the sight words by the end of the first nine weeks.  That's awesome!  In your case, I would use this resource only for the kids who need that constant repetition and direct instruction on sight words.  For your other kiddos, can they simply read the sight words, or can they spell them also?  If they are unable to spell them correctly, I would use this to reinforce not only reading sight words, but also writing them correctly.  In my opinion, sight words are some of those "have to" words that kid should be spelling correctly in their writing.  Our kindergarten program uses A Beka (blehhhhh....) which has great phonics instruction but little else.  I know the teacher has introduced some sight words but they have had very little in the way of sight word instruction.  I am interested in giving some assessments the first week of school to see where they actually are.  I may give the quarterly sight word assessments as pre tests and see how they do on those.  Then I will know whether or not to use this as a reading program, a spelling program, or both.  Hope this helps!

  2. Thanks for the question and to luckeyfrog for the link. I don't have a ton of comments, but I always comment back even if it just makes me feel like my blog is helping someone.

  3. Thank you for replying! Most of my students who come to first grade knowing the dolch words are really good reading them in context and isolation. They haven’t had much experience with writing them so I think your packet would be very beneficial for me. I have it on my wish list now!

  4. I don't think we can because we have tempates by Dreamlike Magic! The blogger site says that templates that are too heavily modified can't do the threaded commenting. I've tried and tried and tried! I guess it's the sacrifice we have to make for having beautiful blogs! ;)
