Short Vowel Fun {and a FREEBIE!}

My first graders are off to a great start.  It's so hard to believe we're already midway through our third week!!  WOW! Midterm will be here before we know it.

We've reviewed cvc words very heavily these past few weeks.  My kiddos and I are really into cut and paste activities because they allow for a little more movement and are a little more exciting than paper and pencil EVERYTHING, so I made these little short vowel flip books for them using our die cut machine and jumbo construction paper.  The kiddos had to color and cut out short vowel pics and glue them under the correct vowel.  They loved it, and it was a great informal assessment.
