Not physically, but mentally. I finally finished a SUPER HUGE product I was inspired to create after purchasing some amazing books from Scholastic’s Dollar Days sale. I found a super-you-have-to-run-out-and-get-this resource from Scholastic called Systematic Sight Word Instruction for Reading Success that guides you through 35 weeks of sight words. The resource includes word lists, word cards, daily lesson ideas, reproducible group and independent activity pages, quarterly assessment pages, and more. Seriously, I could go on and on about it! The good news for me…I got it for $1 for this mega PDF. The bad news for you...the price is back up to $67.99 for the paper binder and $89.99 for the PDF. However, I think it’s worth the investment. And, who knows? Maybe it will be offered for $1 again sometime.
Anyway, I wanted a sheet to send home with students each week or for them to keep in sight word notebooks highlighting that week’s words. I also wanted weekly homework pages for students to have meaningful practice with the sight words each night…in 5 minutes or less. Hence, the “BIRTH” of this resource. I call it “Super Sweet Sight Words” and have used an ice cream theme featuring Scrappin’ Doodles amazing graphics. I also created an ice cream incentive chart for students to show their mastery of quarterly sight word assessments and half page certificates for students who make 90% or higher and demonstrate mastery (though my goal, of course, is 100% mastery for everyone!). Here is a super-sized sneak peek of all it includes.
I am super excited about this, and hope you will go check it out {HERE}. Leave a comment letting me know what you think and that you follow my blog, and tomorrow night I will choose two winners to receive this resource for FREE! J
This looks super cute and would be just perfect for my kids! And of course I follow your blog!

I also bought this $1 book and this supplement looks awesome! I had planned to start using this book when I returned after the holidays - it's perfect for me because I am still only one fourth of the way through the year and some of my 2nd graders really need the extra practice with their sight words. I can tell you've put a lot of work into this!

I love this packet because it really goes in depth with reading in context and practicing handwriting. Does anyone ever have children come to first knowing most of the 220 words? It seems like only 3 or 4 of my kids need practice while the rest of the class has mastered them the first nine weeks? LOVE THIS PACKET

I am SO glad I got that sight word book last week! I didn't realize what a steal it was! I was going to use it as an intervenrion for a low reader and do it more in depth when I start first grade next year. Your packet looks awesome...and I am a follower.
