I've Been a Busy Girl!!

Leaping Leprechauns!  My students bring in their Leprechaun Traps tomorrow and, to borrow Babbling Abby's favorite phrase, I am twelve kinds of excited (lol).  I do not like surprises.  I can't stand suspense.  (Some would call this nosey; I get called that quite often!!)  I'm the kind of person who even peeks under the tissue paper of OTHER people's presents because I can't wait for them to open them.  I thought I was seriously weird for doing this, but now I can blame it on my mom.  It's a genetic thing.  She confessed to me last year that she does the same thing (and I never knew that!!)  Anyway, to get back on topic, it's been killing me to wait til tomorrow to see their creative little contraptions.  I will be sure to post pictures!  I intended to get these uploaded earlier in the week but my internet/computer woes continue.  This unit is called "Top O' the Morning to Ya!"  It's perfect for St. Patricks' week morning work or St. Patrick's Day skills reviews.  It could really be used all month as long as you don't mind a leprechaun and shamrocks on the pages.  It features 5 pages:  multiplying by 1's and 2's with a multiplication story problem; skip counting by 4's; identifying nouns and verbs; identifying person/place/thing; and identifying facts and opinions about Ireland.  The kids have loved the pages so far.  I've included a sample below.  It is on sale for $1.50 {here}.

I also got my "Why Can't I" unit completed and uploaded.  It is also available for $1.50 and is available {here}.  This includes a story I wrote to teach kids about the concept of changing y to i before adding a suffix that begins with e.  TOUGH concept for kiddos to grasp and remember, but mine latched on to it after I shared this story!  The story features a refrain "Why can't I?" that reminds them of Y --> I.  I have also included 3 indpendent activities, 3 teaching charts/posters, teaching tips, and 1 center activity with a recording page.

Finally, don't forget to check out my "Soaring Through Standardized Tests" freebie on TPT.  It's a great way to review the strategies your students need to use for their standardized tests.  Look for updates on our leprechaun traps tomorrow.  Hubby is out spray-painting aquarium rocks gold in the backyard because Mr. Leprechaun might, ahem, leave them a little gold. ;)
