Amy Lemons, Amy Lemons, Amy Lemons!!

I’ve been behind on blogging and sharing resources this past week mainly because it’s been a C.R.A.Z.Y. time in my life.  Open House, jury duty next week, spring break coming up, practicing for standardized tests, etc. has got me stretched thin.  I am working on some great resources, want to share pictures of recent classroom events, etc.  But be patient with meI’ll get it done soon!

Anyway, back to the title of my post.  I luuuuuurve me some Amy Lemons (as I know y’all do, too!).  I just had to share that this week one of my kiddos said, “This paper says ‘Amy Lemons’ on it.  Why do all of your papers say ‘Amy Lemons?’”  So, I went on to explain how Amy Lemons is one of my favorite bloggers, she teaches 2nd grade too, and she comes up with the most fabulous ideas ever. Now, ever resource I use from Amy I hear a moan and a sigh and “UhhAmy Lemons again!!”  I told them I would pull her up on my Ipad and show them her picture one day.  They are totally excited about that.  She’s a second grade celebrity, after all.  We used Amy’s Noun and Verb pages to write all the nouns and verbs we could think of.  One of my students came up to me giggling and she had written “Amy Lemons” for one of her people names.  This started a frenzy.  One kid wrote “Amy Lemons’ husband”, and another kid wrote “Amy Lemons’ kitchen counter” for their thing list.

I knew y’all would appreciate my second graders’ Amy Lemons craze.  I love Amy Lemons!  Keep the great ideas coming, Mrs. Lemons! +

  3. That is hilarious! My kiddos have asked why my name is on some of the papers when they are supposedly from the Letter Snatcher or Lucky the Leprechaun, etc.
