FREE Hugs!

Is a hug really significant?


Research shows....
* Hugs release Oxytocin which makes us feel good.
* Hugs lower blood pressure.
* Hugs are a natural stress reliever.

In fact, research shows that to get the FULL benefit of Oxytocin, we need 8 hugs per day!

Today I announced in my classroom, "FREE HUGS!  Who wants a free hug?"  The kids came running to my desk...eager to get a good squeeze.  Several came back two or three times.  I hug them freely anyway, but today we set aside a special time for hugs...first thing in the morning!

They were grinning from ear to ear.  So was I.  From now on, this sign will be hanging over my desk.  Please hang it over yours, too.  (Click the image to print the sign!)
