A Few Christmas Laughs & Easy Parent Gifts

Wow, guys...shouldn't there be a law or something against full moons occurring on the last week of school before a holiday....esp for two major holidays in a row???

As my brother says, my kids are "jacked up like a spider monkey!!!!"

So in the spirit of the holiday chaos we're all experiencing right now, I thought I'd share a few funnies with you.  First off, I first saw this last year and just loved it.  It's so true!!
My kids do one of my daily Read and Writes each day.  They read a story on their instructional level, answer a few questions, and then respond to a corresponding writing prompt.  Today's writing prompt said, "What would you do if you were the elf on the shelf?"  I loved this little man's response:
We started Leigh (The Applicious Teacher)'s fabulous Gingerbread Unit today.  I loved the central message some of them took from The Gingerbread Man.

I realized this weekend that I had been a total slacker in the parent gift department.  I've been so busy getting ready for our school's Christmas festival that time had slipped up on me.  Thankfully, I'd snapped some beautiful pics of the kiddos when the (stinky) Bradford Pear trees were in full bloom.  So, the parents are getting a framed picture:

plus an easy-peasy snowflake fingerprint ornament:
 And a Gingerbread Ornament:

The kids made torn paper snowman bags to wrap the gifts in:
I feel like a slacker this year, but truthfully the late Thanksgiving holidays threw me for a loop.  What are your kids giving their parents for Christmas?

  1. Love the card! Made me laugh. I could use a skinny body and a fat bank account too!
