Silly Sentences & Smart Cookies

We are still working hard on composing complete sentences and identifying the who, what, and where part of sentences.  I created these fun sheets for my kiddos to practice writing silly sentences and writing silly stories.  They are perfect for the writing center, too.  At this time there are 20 different spinner combos (identical characters/setting/action in the form of a silly sentences page and a silly story page--so 40 pages in all).  But I plan to add 16 more so I will have 36 different pages (72 in all) to last through each week of the school year.  The children use a paper clip and a pencil as a spinner and then spin a character, an action, and a setting.  They had a blast!!  Here is an example I completed:

And here is an example from one of my firsties:

Yes, we are STILL working on capital letters, periods, etc.  We will get there one day!!!
You can pick up the Spin a Silly Story or Sentence packet for $3.50 here:

My blog post heading also mentioned Smart Cookies.
Lucky to Be in First

My Sweet friend Molly Lynch from Lucky to Be in First! has created the most adorable "Smart Cookie" Math app for Iphones, Ipads, etc.  It's ONLY $1.99 and the levels correspond with her Smart Cookie product on TPT.  Many of you already have this FAB product if you purchased the Team Lewy Body Dementia Fundraising bundle that ended on October 14th.  If not, you can click the picture below to check it out on TPT.  Anywho, Molly's app completely aligns with the levels and progression of her Smart Cookie product, so they go hand in hand.  We will be starting the Smart Cookie Math after Christmas, and I'm totally going to recommend that all of my parents who have Iphones or Ipads download the app for their kiddos.  You can check out the app here:

Way to go, Molly!  I am amazed!! :)

One last thing... my November Read and Writes are available now! These are a combination of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry passages that were each written by me.  Each passages highlights 3 sight words and 3 challenge words and features 3 comprehension questions as well as a related writing prompt you copy on the back of the passage.  The writing prompts have been fabulous seat work after our small group reading time!   I'd love to give away 2 copies of them.  Leave a blog post comment and I'll choose two random winners later this week.  Thanks!  I also have September and October packets in my store and am working on the December packet now! :)
