Class-Made Books with a fun FREEBIE!!

Do your kiddos love to read books made by previous classes?  Mine fight over them!  I wanted to make a more conscious effort to make several books with my students each month and start a class-made book library that students can read over and over again!  So, I started with an October packet.  There are ideas for 6 different class-made books.  Each idea includes a color and a black/white cover option, a story planning page, and a book page.  These are meant for each child to complete one page which you then bind together as a class book.

This week my students have been working on the Fall Is Fun book by brainstorming things we love about fall.

My first graders are obviously not proficient editors right now, so I do rewrite their writings with correct spelling, spacing, and punctuation so they will be written correctly in the book.

Then, when it's time to write their final copy for the book, they simply copy the index card.  Here's what the final book pages look like:

I laminate the covers so the book holds up better and bind it with my comb binder (which I love!)  Then, I place them in that month's Class-Made book basket.  The October packet comes with a book bin label and ideas for the following six books:

You can pick up this little packet on TPT Here:

And just because I love y'all, you can get the "Fall Is Fun" book materials that are pictured in this post by clicking {HERE}!

And THANK YOU to all who donated products or purchased the bundle for Team Lewy Body....I exceeded my goal!!  I will be sharing the numbers next week after my Dad's Lewy Body Dementia Awareness Event.  I promised him I wouldn't release any numbers til then.  So, thanks....from the bottom of my heart!!!  If you live in middle Georgia, tune in to Fox Five Atlanta today at 5, 6, or 10 as they broadcast an interview with my Dad and his neurologist at Emory from today!!  This took place right after my Dad met with Governor Nathan Deal so the Governor could sign a proclamation declaring October as Lewy Body Dementia Awareness Month in Georgia.   Doesn't my dad ROCK???  I told y'all he's my Hero!!!
