Sight Word Superstars! Plus last day for Giveaway

I uploaded a new product I plan to use with my firsties this fall.

I've decided to go with Fry Words and Phrase this year instead of the Dolch words for a number of reasons.  Mainly, I feel that the Fry Words are more current and research-based and they comprise such a vast percentage of written language.  This first packet covers the first 100 Fry Words and includes lots of goodies that can be used for homework, independent practice, and small group games!  The packet has a Hollywood theme, and I've purchased several goodies from Oriental Trading to use this Fall as my students take center stage and read their words like actors:

The packet includes a Lights, Camera, Action! game.  Place as many of the color-coded word sets as you wish in a popcorn bucket.  Students take turns drawing a card and reading it.

If they get the word correct without sounding it out, they can keep it.  If they miss it, it goes back in the bucket.  If they draw a "Lights, Camera, Action!" card, they have to turn it over and do what it says.  This is where the props (and maybe some handheld mikes!) will come in.  There are all kinds of fun voices and accents for the kids to use when reading their word cards.

However, if they draw a "Cut!" card, they have to put all of their cards back in the bucket and start over.  The player with the most cards at the end of the game wins!  My kids love games like this, so I'm sure it will be a hit!

The packet also includes Roll and Read Fluency Practice for each of the 25 word sets and a word search for each set...perfect activities for homework or practice!
Plus, there's a French Fry Phrases game in which students take turns drawing and reading a Fry Phrase that uses some of the First 100 Fry Words.  There are 89 Fry Phrases included.  There's even a recording page if you leave this at a center.

Finally, I've included small word cards that are perfect for copying on cardstock and placing on a ring clip.  Students can clip these into their 3 ring binders and study their sight words at home!  I've suggested copying them in a color that corresponds with that word groups' word cards.

Go check out the file!  I'll be giving away a copy on my facebook page this weekend, so be sure to follow me on facebook:
