I’m
linking up today with First Grade and Fabulous for a Holiday Recipes linky
party. Yum…reading
everyone’s fabulous recipes is making me quite hungry…lol!
Here are
some of my favorites that I will be fixing this week for our family
Thanksgiving celebration:
Paula
Deen’s Squash Casserole
Cook 4-5 squash and squeeze out excess water. Preheat oven to 350. Saute one large chopped onion in butter for 5
mins. Remove from pan and mix with 3 c
cooked squash, 1 c crushed Ritz Crackers, 1/2 c sour cream, salt, pepper, and
garlic powder to taste, and 1 c grated cheddar.
Pour into buttered casserole dish and top with more crushed Ritz
Crackers. Bake for 30 mins or until
bubbly. So good…I
promise it’ll make you want to slap your mama!!!!
Butterfinger
Dessert Cake
One of my husband’s cousins fixes this every year for our
family reunion and it’s DIVINE. I’m
going to try my hand at it this year.
With a mixer, blend 1/4 c melted butter, 1 pkg prepared
vanilla pudding, 1 1/2 c powdered sugar, and 1 lg Cool Whip. Cut Angel food cake into bite size
squares. Layer it with the Cool Whip
mixture in a trifle bowl, and follow each of these with a layer of crushed
Butterfinger bars (6 bars in all).
Repeat ending with candy bar pieces on top. Must be kept refrigerated. Again, to die for delicious!!
I've created a little FREEBIE Holiday Recipe book file so you can compile your class's favorite Thanksgiving and/or Christmas recipes. You can find it at TPT by clicking the picture below:
Thank you for sharing this. It is a great idea and the students would love it. I am pinning your post on my December board. Thanks again for sharing it.
