AWESOME first day!!

I have the Best.Class.Everrrrrr.  Ever.  Ever.

I am teaching 2nd grade at a small Christian school.  I only have 8 kids (4 boys, 4 girls).  I wish I had more, and am praying God will send me 5-6 new students so we can have a good sized class, but it is a blessing to have so much one-on-one time with the kids.  They were so stinkin' cute and sweet and precious today.  "Yes M'am," "No M'am," "Please," and "Thank you!"  ALL DAY!  They were so kind to each other and so motivated to learn.  They told me they LOVED school.  I just fell in love with them!  I wanted to share two funnies from today:

One little girl told me that they played outside during music today and she climbed a tree.  She said, "You know, I AM part Monkey and part American."  It was toooooooo cute!!

Later, the kids were making self-portraits and one little boy said, "Mrs. Ashley, my markers are washable.  How do I wash this off?"  He wanted to wash his picture off the page and start over.  Priceless!!!

I will share some goodies in the next few days as I get acclimated and adjusted to school again.  God bless!  :)

  2. wow...only 8 kids?? That would be heaven! :) Glad you had a good first day. [Class size that small wouldn't fly in my public district but man how much you can accomplish with such a small group!]

  4. I love my 8 kiddos and it's wonderful having so few. I just want the Lord to bless our tiny little private school so we can keep growing and offer more to our kids and parents! So, growth in my classroom will mean the Lord is blessing us! :)

  5. Part monkey and part American?! HA-larious. Kids crack me up! Last year on the first day, one of my little friends asked me if I had a job...

We start back tomorrow--27 awesome kiddos (we loop, so I had them as 1st graders too)! Hope your class grows and grows this year.
